Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28th in 1967. Roberts is the fourth Roberts generation that has lived in Atlanta from her grandfather who was a farmer, John Pendleton Roberts. Her father was interested in theatre at an early age. While a student at Emory University he appeared in diverse productions, both in and outside of campus. After joining the airforce, in 1953 he appeared in an airforce production in Biloxi along with Betty Lou Bredemus. Eric Anthony was their first born. The couple got married in the year. Walter attended Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana after he left the Airforce in the year 1957. Walter became a member of Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio when the family relocated from Atlanta to Georgia's Decatur in 1960. Walter as well as Betty Lou produced a Saturday matinee local TV show for children known as Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964. It was a venture that they funded themselves. In 1964, Walter and Betty Lou founded their own organization called the Actors and Writers Workshop. It ran for about six years. Lelisa Billingsley, also known as Lisa was born in the year 1965. Julia Billingsley followed in 1967.
