Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco - a Canadian and American musician and singer. Her catalog includes more than twenty albums. The songs of DiFranco are classified as folk and alternative rock. But, they are influenced by hip-hop music, jazz, and punk. The widely regarded feminist icon Grammy award winner Ani DiFranco is the mother of the DIY movement and is among the first artists to create her own label 1990. DiFranco was born on 23rd September, 1970, in Buffalo New York. Her parents were Elizabeth (Ross), from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as well as Dante Americo DiFranco. Her father is Italian heritage, while her mother comes from Montreal. Ani diFranco composed and sang the song 32 Flavors. The track was first released on her 1995 sixth album Not a Pretty Girl. It was also featured on the soundtrack to the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate, released in 1999. In 2013, DiFranco apologised after it was revealed that she was hosting an event for three days in a former Louisiana slave plantation. She cancelled it however many (including the author of this article) did not show any remorse. DiFranco released a new apology days later. Although she's known by the name of Little Peoplesinger, she's collaborated with a variety of musicians and artists, from Pete Seeger through Chuck D all the way to Prince. Her home is New Orleans. Ani was born Kristen Ford. In 14 years she was writing her songs. She sang them in bars and coffee shops throughout her teenage years. DiFranco was a graduate of her Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts high school at 16, and enrolled in classes at Buffalo State College. Ani's baritone is a customized Alvarez guitar made after several meetings with Chrys who was an Alvarez representative for artists during the time. It comes with the System 600 preamp and has every solid wood available, including a top made of cedar, mahogany on the back, sides and an fretboard made of ebony. The home she lives in is New Orleans. There she lives with her husband, kids and her long-legged pet Lefty. Three decades deep into her career DiFranco confesses to having mixed feelings about looking in the rearview mirror. Ani DiFranco is a writer and musician from the punk/folk genre, was just 25 when she debuted her seventh album Not A Pretty Girl and enjoyed even greater popularity in the public by releasing Dilate. "Brandy" (You're a Beautiful Girl) by American pop rock group Looking Glass is from the album Looking Glass. Elliot Lurie, the lead guitarist of Looking Glass and co-vocalist wrote the track.
