She has covered sports in several of the biggest publications around the world. She spent nearly a decade at The Washington Post covering football and basketball as well as multiple Olympics and Grand Slam Tennis. In 2004 Nichols was transferred to ESPN for a period of nine years where she won 2 Emmy Awards and appeared on some of the network's most watched programs, like SportsCenter as well as NFL Countdown. As a reporter in the stands and also part of Monday Night Football. After she left the ESPN network, her subsequent destination was CNN as well as Turner Sports.
