Ellie Goulding
Ellie Goulding is a British artist and singer. She was born Elena Jane Goulding on 30 December 1986, in Hereford. Ellie Goulding's infectious electronic sound quickly propelled her to the top charts after she was noticed by the public in 2010. The singer-songwriter was able to achieve this feat with her singles "Starry Eyed" and "Guns and Horses". Although she started out writing songs in a folk-inflected style, she eventually grew into a more electronic-influenced artist, touching upon dance music and ambient synth pop. Her unique soprano sibilance and knack of writing catchy yet emotionally earnest songs, Goulding, much like her predecessors Kate Bush and Imogen Heap is at the top of modern mainstream music as well as an independent, artistic pop.Goulding was soon moving from blogging to printed media, receiving the attention of mainstream magazines like The Guardian and fielding offers from record companies. The final decision was to sign a major label contract to Polydor Records and began making preparations to release her debut album.
